The Program Director of Portland’s Jazz Station “89.1fm KMHD” Matt Fleeger wrote an article for NPR MUSIC that listed 5 songs that represented what was happening in the Portland jazz scene. FNMUSICWEB’s own Trumpeter Farnell Newton with Marcus Reynolds is featured on a song that Farnell wrote called The Bluest Eyes after a novel by author Toni Morrison for our 2006 release “Sense of Direction” The funny thing is that this record was not available online because of the indie-label it was released on does not exist anymore. Okay, so enough of the blabbing! Here is the link so you can check out the NPR MUSIC article yourself. Enjoy!
