The Program Director of Portland’s Jazz Station “89.1fm KMHD” Matt Fleeger wrote an article for NPR MUSIC that listed 5 songs that represented what was happening in the Portland jazz scene. FNMUSICWEB’s own Trumpeter Farnell Newton with Marcus Reynolds is featured on a song that Farnell wrote called “The Bluest Eyes“ after a novel by author Toni Morrison for our 2006 release “Sense of Direction” The funny thing is that this record was not available online because of the indie-label it was released on does not exist anymore. R&B Singer/Songwriter Jaiden “The Cure” is an up-and-coming R&B star, Long Island, New York-raised Jaiden has been making his presence felt both in front of the mic and behind the pen. The crooner has already established himself as a Grammy Nominated songwriter, crafting lyrics for well-known artists like Case, Carl Thomas and newcomer Jalen.  He’s also honed his performance skills on tours for such heavyweights as P. Diddy, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill and John Legend.

LunchTime Legends are a hip hop production duo from Portland, OR, consisting of Paul Lindsay Jr. and Deondrae “Drae Slapz” Rhone. They came together to form the team in 2012, but have known each other since 2009. In the past year they have produced for many artist in the Pacific NW as Mic Capes, Jon Belz, Big Mo, Felicia Taylor, The 3rd, Glenn Waco, BlakkSoul, Waxxie and many others.
