ALEX MILSTED

Alex Milsted is a multi-instrumentalist and composer currently living in Portland, Oregon.  He was brought up learning and loving straight ahead jazz, and pursued his interests at the Arts and Communication Magnet Academy in Beaverton, Oregon.  There, he performed with the highly acclaimed ACMA Jazz Orchestra, with which he was given many awards for individual and group performance including “Best Saxophone Soloist” awards at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho and the Next Generation Jazz Festival in Monterey, California.

Since graduating, Milsted has become an active performer in Portland and around North America.  He currently performs with the up-and-coming Doo Doo Funk All-Stars, Hidden Beach recording artist Mike Phillips, and many more.

Alex Milsted’s sophisticated approach to music has turned many heads his direction everywhere he’s gone.  From performing on the main stage at the Monterey Jazz Festival, to the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage, to the Omaha Jazz and Blues Fest, to Chene Park in Detroit, to his hometown of Portland, Oregon, at only 20 years old, Alex Milsted is a young man with a bright future ahead of him.
